Legacy Mixed Martial Arts

For the legacy of a lifetime...

FAQ

General

  1. Why should I choose a Mixed Martial Arts school like Legacy? What is the difference between Mixed and traditional schools?

A Mixed Martial Arts school is simply a school that teaches more than one discipline of martial arts. Legacy focuses on a curriculum designed specifically towards practical application.  In our Mixed programs we combine the most useful pieces of Tae Kwon Do, Jujitsu, Kickboxing, and Muay Thai, into one more perfect art.

  2. I have heard that Legacy is very low pressure in its sales tactics, why is that?

Most dojos are focused on getting as many people to sign up for contracts as possible, knowing that some students will not continue training beyond a few months. This then opens up more space for new people to keep the process going. The students are charged for the duration of course and pay eventhough they are not attending.

At Legacy we feel if we offer the best possible product we will have happy clients that want to train. So we have adopted the low pressure sales, and in turn we have a much higher student retention ratio.

  3. There are many schools that are chains and have multiple locations, why should I choose a independant school like Legacy when I can go to one with multiple locations?

This is fairly simple, when you start with a concept and tryto pass it on it naturally losses a bit in the translation, and the farther you go from the original source the more watered down it becomes.

This holds true with most things and is the same with marital arts, we train all our instructors in house, and each is watched over by the founder of the school Sensei Cameron, this ensures that the core elements remain in place and the fundamentals remain strong.

Many schools grow so fast that the head of one school has never met the creator of their marital arts system, in short the system loses its integrity and the original idea is lost in the expansion.

  4. I have heard that Legacy is best school in the area, but classes are less expensive elsewhere, why should I choose Legacy?

When it comes to prices, Legacy  is neither the least nor the most expensive in the area, but that is simply because the best things are generally not the cheapest. You wouldn’t compare a steak from Dennys with a steak from a gourmet restaurant like Ruth’s Chris, and the same can be said for martial arts.

We offer more classes per week than most schools and have more instructors on the floor teaching them. This gives the student the personal attention needed to reach their potential. At Legacy you get the best instruction, a clean location, and the most classes.

  5. If I sign up more than one student from my family do I get a discount?

Yes, you will recieve 10% off on the second family member.

  6. Which Holidays does Legacy Martial Arts close for?

We follow the public school schedule, and are closed for all holidays that public schools in Palm Beach county are closed for. We do not close for teacher service days or summer vacation.

  7. I have heard that some schools dont give out Black Belts to children, and instead give a Jr Black Belt, what is Legacy Marital Arts stance on this?

We give out a full Black Belt to any student who earns the ranking. Some people argue that  a small child could not actually defeat a large adult and therefore cannot be Black Belts.

This is a silly way to look at things, a Black Belt is not an undefeatable warrior, but simply someone trained to a high level of martial arts prowess. If a child is a Black Belt and they keep up with the training asthey grow they will have a significant advantage in a fight over an untrained opponent and as they get older and stronger they will be able to handle larger and stronger opponents.

  8. How many days a week will I need to attend to keep up with the classes.

Two days per week is generally enough, when combined with practicing at home.
